October 30, 2007 - Tuesday
It has finally become fall in the South...at least for the time being. Summer seemed to stretch on F-O-R-E-V-E-R and I
thought that Autumn would never arrive. We have been blessed the past few days with cooler temperatures (even down to
freezing!) and a few days of much needed rain.
Steve and I have both been kept busy with numerous different projects we are working on. Steve works full time, and then
in addition to that runs his own company on the side. The company is small, but still has a number of clients...all of whom
need attention at various points, which of course, takes up time.
I have kept busy by working part time for The Cove Church, helping them with their website. They have decided to ditch the
current site and redesign, so I've had the pleasure of heading that up. I designed the look and feel and Steve has helped make
it fully functional. We had a meeting about it last night with a few other people and are well on our way to making it into
something really great. It should hopefully be done in a couple of weeks.
In a couple of weeks we will also head off to England. We are going over to be with Steve's family during his mum's surgery.
We are really blessed to be able to go a few days before the surgery, so we will have a chance to visit with her before she's
into her recovery phase. I will also get to help out with some of the cooking, cleaning and laundry, to make the whole recovery
period easier for both her and dad. That will also mean that we'll get to spend another Christmas and New Year's in England.
That definitely has its benefits...both for the chance to see family, but also for the fact that England has some very fun and
yummy things around Christmas time...mainly mince pies (YUM!) and mulled wine. It's also fun to see the lights and decorations.
The most interesting thing is going to be figuring out all the little details...when do we Christmas shop? If we do buy gifts,
how big are they, and are we going to be able to fit them in a suitcase? How do we manage our house back in North Carolina
when we are so far away? Luckily we have a number of great friends who have offered to help us out with some of the practical
sides of things. Yet another blessing of having a great church family!
